Egypt may be famous for its history, monuments and sightseeing, but summer is for enjoying the outdoors. For cycling, swimming, splashing around in the water and exploring your limits.
Sha'ab Alam or Sha'ab Marsa Alam is an offshore reef located just about 3 km far from Marsa Alam City coast, the shortest way to get out there is from Marsa Alam Marina, the reef is a great spot for both snorkelers and divers, whilst snorkelers can enjoy the diversity of corals and sea-life and have chances of spinner dolphin encounter it also offers a great spot for drift, deep and free diving.
The corals on the north outer side of the reef are stunning. Being near the open sea, it is not uncommon to meet big eagle rays, white tip sharks, and morays. The internal part of the reef has a small wreck of a daily trip boat.
As a bonus, there is an opportunity to meet some Spinner Dolphins that could be seen on the inside of that reef, as it is on their way of and to the most known Shaab Samadai – "Dolphin House".
