Egypt may be famous for its history, monuments and sightseeing, but summer is for enjoying the outdoors. For cycling, swimming, splashing around in the water and exploring your limits.

WANDERLUST STAFF: our boss, owner and visionary SHERIF
Woop 🙌 woop 🙌 here we go. Today we introduce our boss and owner SHERIF. Coming originally from a town called Beni Swayef… he lives already over 🔟 years in Marsa Alam, loving the Southern Red Sea 🌊 and its area so much, that he opened Wanderlust tours. Target: to create as many wonderful holiday memories for guests, friends and family as possible. He knows all the tours by heart and is also the beating heart from our company. Motor, visionary, boss, tour guide, snorkeler 🤿 and also friend 🧍for all of us.
And these are his answers to our questionary.
🔷 Age: older than sharks 🦈 and younger than turtles 🐢. 🔷 What I enjoy most in Southern Egypt: the relaxed life style, magical nature. 🔷 Why desert 🏜and ocean 🌊 are combining so good together? From a landscape point of view, the contrast between blue and yellowish brown is absolutely mesmerizing. I admire the southern eco-system of the Red Sea. 🔷 If I would be a marine life biologist, I would do more research on: 🦈 🔷 My absolute favorite fish or mammal in the Red Sea: Hammerhead Sharks 🔨🦈 🔷 My favorite fish as a dish and what I need to prepare it: poached calamari salad with lemon, I need fresh calamari 🦑 😃 🔷 Talking about Egyptian food, what would be your favorite local dish? And who prepares it? Stuffed baladi chicken cooked by my mother. 🔷 Which word would you teach to a foreign person in Arabic and why? Well, there are many, but Yalla Bena “let’s go now” – and also the 2nd word would be “malesh” which has so many uses, could be sorry, it is okay, get over it, excuse me etc. 🔷 What is a „must see“ historic site in Egypt? Why? The Great Pyramids of Giza. Fascinating place, a 4 to 10 thousand years old establishment “many historians debate on this”, holds the key to explain a lot of things about ancient Egypt and the ancient world through its engineering. Just try to imagine that massive building as you know it but rendered with smooth limestone, shiny finish and a sparkling golden tip, must have been so mesmerizing for the people if back then to see it. 🔷 Which new, special tour I would like to guide in future? In Marsa Alam we are preparing a special tour for the new season of 2022 to be revealed soon. But outside Marsa Alam; Fayoum and “Wahat Baharya” oasis, they hold beautiful nature and history together in the same place. 🔷 Biggest wish for 202️⃣2️⃣, apart from Corona disappearing? For more people including myself to understand that respecting nature is a direct effect on our day-to-day life. 🔷 And last, but not least... if I would be a musician, what genre and which instrument I would play? I used to love to listen to country music when I am by myself so I guess that combined with classic guitar 🎸.
